Building Information Modeling
Gaylor is using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to improve how projects are designed, managed and delivered to the owner. Gaylor is among the leaders in the construction industry by replacing traditional 2D construction drawings with 3D computer generated models.
With the 3D model our project team can provide coordination to avoid conflicts between trades before construction starts. By using the 3D model Gaylor will also improve quality through increased prefabrication and visually evaluate project sequencing and scheduling.
"Gaylor was able to demonstrate their ability to take advantage of the benefits of using BIM on the University of Kentucky Patient Care Facility. They provided 100% of their large-diameter conduit bends off-site, which is nothing short of amazing. By bending the conduit off-site, Gaylor was able to minimize the amount of man hours and equipment on-site which led to an impeccable safety record. Also, the amount of waste and field rework was greatly reduced, if not eliminated totally."
