We also offer complete "design assist" services. In a design assist project, the primary engineering and design (Engineer of Record) remains the responsibility of an outside engineering firm. Gaylor will review the designs and offer suggestions, coordination, and quality control/compliance consulting.
Our Design Assist Capabilities
- Provide early review of specifications and drawings
- Prepare a design narrative with appropriate questions and scope clarification
- Provide analysis of all possible "gray areas" in the scope of work
- Provide review of designs, offering suggestions and/or comments based on prior experience
- Provide potential cost savings analysis of design changes
- Provide early coordination with other trades
- Provide light fixture specification analysis and alternative fixtures for review
- Provide detailed layout and dimensions of electrical rooms and switchgear locations
- Assist in trade coordination by providing layout drawings for overlays
- Provide coordination with owner and architect for specialty equipment
- Maintain updates to record drawings throughout the project
