Utility Division Helps Communities Recover from Severe Winter Weather
Heavy ice and snow fell across a wide area of southern Indiana and Kentucky on January 27, 2009, doing severe damage to power lines throughout the area. Gaylor Utility Division crews began work to restore power for Duke Energy in Corydon, Indiana, where they worked for five days in sixteen-hour shifts.
Next the crews moved to Greenville, Kentucky, where they expect to be rebuilding damaged infrastructure for the next three weeks. While working on this project, our crews are working sixteen hour shifts and spending their nights in a local high school.
Due to the extent of the damage, there are nearly sixty companies assisting with storm repair. Gaylor is proud to be able to assist residents of this devastated area to recover from the severe winter weather.
