Indianapolis Branch Hosts ACE Mentoring Event

ACE students from the Indianapolis Public Schools' Arsenal Tech High School

Gaylor, Inc. hosted the second annual subcontractor visit of the ACE Mentoring Program at the Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana on December 3, 2008. The ACE students are from the Indianapolis Public Schools’ Arsenal Tech High School.  The session began with greetings from John C. Gaylor, President and CEO of Gaylor, Inc.  This was followed by a welcome from Karen VanderWal, VP of Workforce Development for ABC of Indiana, then a lively introduction to Building Information Management (BIM) with Brad Benson, General Superintendent for Gaylor, Inc.

Next, all students donned safety glasses, no-cut gloves, received technical instructions, and performed hands-on electrical prefab of outlet box assemblies, MC cable whips installation, electrical device assemblies, and conduit bending in four rotating stations overseen by Jack Miller, General Superintedent and NCCER nationally certified Gaylor, Inc. instructors: Brian Feller, John Lupacchino, Lance Holman, and Joe Aurelio.   Special thanks to all who assisted with this opportunity to present ABC of Indiana, Gaylor, Inc. and the electrical industry to these interested students who intend to pursue careers in architecture, construction and engineering after their high school graduation.
