What does a Design Engineer do?

Designer Engineers are responsible for design, planning, organizing, and developing documents, methods, approaches, and techniques for conceptual and interpretive drafting of design-build or plan/spec projects. They must also confer with interdepartmental personnel concerning technical support issues, production scheduling, and coordination with external consultants to resolve design issues, researching, developing, and preparing design documents.  

What skills are required of a Design Engineer?

Design Engineers possess a knowledge of lighting design, electrical construction, proficiency in NEC code standards, and computer estimating applications. They also demonstrate strong administrative, computer, and communication skills.
