PROJECT DESCRIPTION

For the past decade, IKEA has been the world’s leading furniture retailer. With 45 store locations in the United States, the Swedish-based super-store has made its way to Fishers, Indiana. As an environmentally responsible corporation, the new Indiana location represents the first IKEA store to use 100% LED lighting. In combination, the 288,000 square-foot facility now hosts the largest solar roof in the state of Indiana. With 3,999 panels, the roof generates enough energy to power the entire facility and an additional 182 Indiana homes.

As one of the most high-profile jobs in the state, IKEA quickly became a visitor hot spot. Attracting crowds of people from surrounding cities and states, the IKEA development has sparked a chain of economic growth. Since the project’s inception, new businesses ventures have flooded into the Hamilton County area, creating hundreds of jobs for our Indiana residents.

The IKEA project was recognized as the 2017 “Project of the Year” by the Indiana Subcontractors Association.
