PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Located in Lafayette, Indiana, IU Arnett Hospital was built at the total cost of $200
million. By evaluating vendor drawings of the 152 patient rooms, as well as medical
specialty rooms (such as MRI, Linac, Surgical, and Maternity Suites), Gaylor
Electric was able to accurately place medical devices for maximum energy
efficiency, to deliver exceptional patient care.

Gaylor Electric rendered a full-service plan customized to meet the owner’s
specifications– including a complete electrical system consisting of power
distribution and receptacles, general and specialty lighting, security,
telecommunications systems, and two 1250 KW emergency generators with
coordinating synchronizing switchgears. Although this project presented the
challenging task of installing high-performance health care equipment, Gaylor
Electric assisted Wilhelm Construction to exceed the owners’ expectations and
successfully complete the hospital in 2009. This project received an ABC Eagle
Award of Electrical Excellence.
