PROJECT DESCRIPTION

NTK Precision Axle Corporation is the largest global supplier of wheel hubs and driveshafts. Providing 15 different automakers with custom designed – model specific parts, more than one third of the automobiles on the road are riding on NTK products. In 2003 this Japanese based auto parts manufacturer opened its first American NTK facility in Frankfort, Indiana. Since its inception, the facility has doubled in size and capability. As the demand for I/C driveshafts increased, the corporation out-grew the Frankfort location and began planning for an expansion plant in Anderson, Indiana. In 2017, the new $87 million dollar NTK development was the largest ongoing project in the state of Indiana.  The NTK design-assist project was both complex and fast-paced. From day one, actively participating in the design phase of the project allowed our team to establish a complete understanding of how the job was going to be constructed. Through pre-planning, coordination, and excellent communication, our electrical team designed & built a world-renowned auto parts manufacturing plant in 16 short months.

In the early design phases, specifications for the Japanese manufactured machines were not available. With a fast-paced schedule and evolving design plans the team was forced to address the challenges head on. On multiple occasions, the layout for the facility’s manufacturing equipment would change. As a result, our electrical team would have to move panels, breakers, and in some instances – change the wire size. With daily engineering coordination meetings and a solid working process, layout changes soon became a seamless process for the design team.

This year, Japanese-based MAEDA Corporation awarded our company with the “2018 Best Business Partner.” With multiple operations overseas, this prestigious title is only presented to two contractors world-wide.
