PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The University of Louisville’s University Pointe was designed and developed with one purpose in mind – to provide a cost-effective contemporary living space for upperclassmen located on campus. The University Pointe student housing began in April of 2015, and was schedule to be move-in ready by the beginning of the following school year, August 2016. In only sixteen months, our team was able to deliver a 115 unit facility. The work began with the complete demolition of an old onsite dormitory, construction of outdoor entertainment and pool, and underground duct banks for the campus fiber loop – which tied two separate sides of the campus together. Gaylor delivered complete distribution of power, lighting, fire alarm systems, tele/data, cable TV, and access control. The electrical portion of this project received the 2017 ABC National Award of Construction Excellence.
