PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Gaylor Electric handled all electrical components for the United Parcel Service’s $68 million state-of-the-art ground-sort facility.  Installing power as well as interior and exterior lighting in this 258,000 square foot warehouse required elevated manpower and cohesive teamwork to maintain the structured timeline.

The facility required power for 13.5 miles of no-lift conveyor systems.  This heavy equipment moves packages through the facility with minimal lifting by personnel who sort the parcels. The conveyer technology provides the hub with the capability to process 60,000 packages per hour.

The distribution center employs 1,200 people and sends more than 200 signature brown trucks to deliver about 75,000 packages each day. To fuel these package delivery vehicles, part of the job included powering the UPS gas station.  Gaylor also installed a fire alarm system for the facility.
