Gaylor Electric is among the industry-leaders who are replacing traditional 2D drawings with computer generated 3D models. By using BIM, we improve how our projects are designed, managed, and delivered to the clients we serve. With the 3D model, our project team can provide coordination to avoid conflicts before construction starts, improve quality, and jump-start fabrication.
At Gaylor Electric, our team of electrical experts have an incomparable ability to address the unique challenges associated with virtual design. Our team is made up of full-time in-house professionals who possess extensive experience in the areas of 3D design modeling, 3D block creation, and clash detection.
Once the best plan is identified, the system will be designed using two and three dimensional computer models. These computer models, or coordination drawings, will then be shared with all trades through various software, to identify and correct clashes that could arise among the other trades.
Once the clashes are eliminated and the design is satisfactory, the drawings will be distributed to the field and fabrications shops, via the cloud. Special detail drawings clarifying specific layout configurations will be shared live. In return, data from the field will also be collected electronically and shared with remote support.
“I had the pleasure to work very closely with Gaylor’s design team on the project. The team members were able to utilize BIM software tools with an expert-level of proficiency. Their expertise was critical on such a high-profile and tightly scheduled job.”
