Central Prison
Raleigh, North Carolina
Gaylor Electric’s contract included all electrical work, fire alarm, security, nurse call and communications for two buildings.
Prior to installation of the 15-foot wide x 27-foot tall wall panels, Gaylor Electric reviewed CAD files provided by the precast plant to determine where to locate conduit. This pre-work helped electricians run conduit and wiring more efficiently once walls are delivered and set in place.
Gaylor Electric installed 5,000 fixtures in two structures including 2×2 and 2×4 fluorescent lay-ins, can lights and exterior and site lighting. Due to the secure nature of the prison, lighting had to be vandal and suicide proof.
