Inovateus
Danville, Illinois
Danville Solar is a 2.62 MW-DC ballasted solar field located atop of an EPA superfund site. Due to the classified nature of the system, no conduit or wire could be run underground. Gaylor Electric was also responsible for the interconnection to the grid using our Utility division.
Gaylor Electric helped to design a code-compliant array that would minimize cost impact. Conduit was ran above ground using pre-cast parking bumpers with strut mounted on top of them.
Expansion joints were implemented every 100’ and Stainless minis had an extra nut put in them so that it could be torqued down and rigidly support the conduit but still allow the material to expand and contract without incident.
