Apprentice

What does an Apprentice do?

Apprentices refine their knowledge and proficiency through a combination of on the job learning experiences and electrical apprenticeship instruction through a registered apprenticeship program. They are mentored by a journeyperson and develop a strong understanding of basic construction principles, best means, and methods for installing various electrical systems.

What skills are required of an Apprentice?

Apprentices are capable of reading and translating construction drawings to guide and plan their installations per the contract scope of work and any applicable state or local codes. They are also able to safely install overhead and underground raceway and conductor systems, install switchgear, panelboards, and transformers, as well as troubleshoot and install basic low voltage systems.

“On the jobsite, I love interacting with my peers. What inspires me to keep working in the construction industry, is the people I’m surrounded by.”
